Corporate asset disposition  (recycle, redeployment, destruction and disposal) affects the areas of business, legal and environmental risk. Individual departments do not have the resources necessary to properly prepare and process end of life assets. Security risks and asset redeployment/disposal are important factors in an assets total cost of ownership. Understanding and complying with federal, state and local regulations requires significant resources and the penalties associated with not handling assets responsibly can be extreme. There are landfill restrictions in most states and EPA regulations in place to minimize the corporate carbon footprint.
